A legendary, time-honoured Cabernet Franc from Rádpuszta: its first vintage in 2007 was crafted under the professional direction of János Konyári, who also inspired the name (meaning ‘bringer of good news’). Nearly a third of the 40 hectares surrounding the winery are planted with Cabernet Franc, from which small, well-ventilated bunches are harvested for Evangelista. It underwent controlled fermention in stainless steel tanks, followed by 14 months of ageing in 225-litre oak barrels. Varietally pure, bold and deep – with a warm character, spiciness, berry notes, eucalyptus, blackberries, fine dark chocolate, a firm tannin structure and great length. It is still in the early stages of its life and would benefit from a few more years of ageing.
