With the great classics, the question always arises: is it worth making a change? In this case, the answer is yes — the legendary Cabernet Franc from the Rádpuszta winery has been renewed inside and out, much to our delight. The label has become more open and balanced while keeping its familiar design elements — and the same can be said for the wine itself.

The 2023 Evangelista brings a fresh perspective and contemporary flavours, and is the fruit of a collaboration between Bori Konyári, Csönge Balázs and Emil Kvák. Nearly a third of the contiguous 40 hectares of vineyards around the winery is Cabernet Franc, from which the raw material for the Evangelista is selected: the yield of small-berried, loose-bunched vines. Fermentation in tank, followed by 12 months of ageing in Hungarian and American oak barrels. With both the aromas and flavours, Cabernet Franc shows its most beautiful face: spiciness, blackberry, plum, eucalyptus and dark chocolate. The palate is warm in character, with subtle, juicy and long-lasting notes.
