The vines, the winemaking and the ageing are all centred on Kishegy. The landscape is encircled by rows of vines, bordered by loess cliffs, and from the top, the full panorama of Lake Balaton unfolds, with the Chapel of Saint Donát in view. Every detail of the wine, from the label to the grapes themselves, is tied to this place: hence the name, hence the origin. The 2023 vintage once again blends the two classic Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The nose reveals ripe plum and sweet spices, with subtle graphite and mineral undertones in the background. On the palate, it’s round and lively: a medium-bodied red with velvety, dusty tannins, with flavours of plum and sour cherry, complemented by subtle spices and fresh fruitiness on the finish. A ripe character in a charming style.
