Sessio is a blend of Bordeaux varieties – Merlot and Cabernet Franc in a 60-40% ratio. It comes from loess, clay soil, from approaching 20-year-old vines. It was harvested by hand, aged for 14-15 months in 225-litre Hungarian oak barrels – half of which were first-fill and the other half second-fill. It’s ripe, full, complex and intense. The two varieties complement one another perfectly – the Merlot bringing fruitiness and the Cabernet Franc spiciness. The nose represents a riper spectrum with prunes, black berry fruits and black olives. On the palate, black berry fruits, strawberry jam, sweet spices, coffee, dark chocolate and herbal notes appear. One of Dani Konyári’s great classics.
