The name ‘Sessio’ comes from medieval documents of the Tihany Abbey, referring to the outer vineyard plots belonging to the vintners' houses. The 2021 vintage is a pure Merlot. The grapes were hand-harvested, and the wine spent 14-15 months in 225-litre Hungarian oak barrels, half of which were new and half second-fill. Ripe and dark aromas, with dried plum, black cherry and black olive. Deep and concentrated palate, with well-balanced acidity. Flavours of strawberry jam, dark chocolate, coffee and sweet spices, finishing with subtle herbal notes.
