A critical year that demanded action. Despite the challenging 2024 vintage, Ottó Légli is debuting new wines and a refreshed line-up. The year marks a milestone for the estate: they’ve received their organic certification, bringing philosophy, approach and environment into complete harmony. With this newfound confidence, Ottó has been able to move in a more deliberate, refined direction. The focus, however, remains on the vineyard and authenticity. Jánoshegy is one of Ottó’s most important sites, planted with his flagship grape variety – the plantation is now eight years old. One and a half hectares of sandstone soil, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeast and extended lees ageing.
The wine is creamy, rounded and rich. On the palate, it evokes white vermouth with its herbal notes, accompanied by stony salinity and a fine, persistent drive. Broad and layered, yet it retains the signature Légli tension. An Olaszrizling that is both classic and true to its terroir.
