A small batch release from Ottó Légli’s Balatonlelle estate, which is known rather for white wine, from the Gesztenyés vineyard in Szőlősgyörök. It’s a spicy Merlot with barrel spices that was spontaneously fermented in vats, then aged for a year and a half in 500-litre barrels. Medium-bodied, with a peppery, chocolate palate, plus a touch of blackcurrant and oak on the dry finish.
