In Gellavilla’s old, stone cellar, white wines with skin contact and without technology, filtering or fining, have been made for years. That’s exactly what the Málnás (meaning Raspberry field) is like. Instead of grapes, raspberries grew on the parcel close to the cellar until 1968 – which provided the name. However, since then Piros Tramini (Red Traminer) has been harvested from here, and the rustic character was elaborated a few years ago via foot-crushed, whole-bunch fermentation that really suits the variety. Compared to the winery’s rich Olaszrizling (Oroszy), this wine is rather about lively aromas and the light, zesty palate. It has a cloudy appearance, and is defined by Piros Tramini’s grapey, floral notes, and tea and herb flavours.
1,670 bottles were made of it.
