The latest member of the village wine series was made from the grapes purchased at the highest price of Gyula Szabó's Káli Basin négociant career. Sándor Pflanzer's four-year-old Furmint plantation is located on Halom Hill, in the basalt soil of the Kútfői vineyard. Ripe, perfectly healthy fruit arrived to the cellar, where after the whole bunch-pressing, the free-run juice was spontaneously fermented in 225- and 300-litre oak barrels for two months. It was bottled after half a year of barrel ageing. The debutant wine in the Káli Kövek wine selection that develops constantly and organically introduces itself directly and purely, with citrus fruit, lively acidity and a lean structure. In addition to the aromas of green apple, quince, pomelo and grapefruit, it is characterized by minerality.
