The Furmint comes from Sándor Pflanzer's young, eight-year-old vineyard in Dörgicsé, from the basaltic Kútfő vineyard site of Halom-hegy (hegy means hill). This is the fifth time Gyula has worked with these grapes, which arrive at the winery ripe and healthy. The bunches are pressed whole, without destemming. The must undergoes spontaneous fermentation in barrels, then ages for eight months. The wine shows the more charming side of Furmint: the nose features tropical fruits, while the palate has a straight, citrusy spine and a round, fruity character.
