Compared to the Tihany rosé, whereby Dávid seeks the featherlight style of Provençal rosé, Pinto is an unbridled experiment with a colour leaning towards siller, wildness and bursting flavours. The shared vineyard site is behind Sajkod Bay, and the organic Zweigelt must for this wine is fermented and aged in a tank, along with a few crates of hand-destemmed grapes. Unfiltered, unfined bottling with minimal sulphur. Sour cherry syrup, raspberry, a loose texture and a thirst-quenching palate, with a subtle tartness on the finish. Harvested on September 20, bottled on June 1.
The rumbling sound of the tractor in the background is a given. We can hear it from the spring to the autumn whenever we’re on the phone to Dávid. He learned his first lessons about viticulture from his father, together they take care of the plots of local grape growers in the Tihany-Balatonfüred-Csopak triangle.
