A common denominator in Dávid’s vineyards is their proximity to the shoreline. Working alongside the vast body of water of Lake Balaton is truly a test of patience – on the sunlit slopes, the perfect harvest window is often measured in hours. The foundation of the 10-hectare family estate has always been the volcanic terroirs of Tihany, where more than half of their vines are still located today. Pinto is not a siller, not a rosé – rather, it’s closer to a light red wine. Made from 100% Zweigelt, with early harvesting, no prolonged skin contact and fermentation and ageing on the gross lees.
Aromas of wild strawberry, sour cherry and sour candy. The palate is juicy and light. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, with minimal added sulphur.

The rumbling sound of the tractor in the background is a given. We can hear it from the spring to the autumn whenever we’re on the phone to Dávid. He learned his first lessons about viticulture from his father, together they take care of the plots of local grape growers in the Tihany-Balatonfüred-Csopak triangle.
