Homonna Attila’s unpretentious Mumus, a Kékfrankos in a litre bottle, couldn’t have arrived at a better time. It captures the liberating simplicity of Tuscan osteria table wines, while every sip remains distinctive, pure, and authentic.
“The same show as in previous years,” says Attila. He hasn’t changed the formula: 100% small-bunch, organically-grown Kékfrankos from the northern shore of Lake Balaton, fermented spontaneously in open vats, and aged for a year and a half in used Stockinger barrels. This is the fourth – and in our opinion, the best – vintage so far. Smooth, thoroughly Kékfrankos, with just the right touch of rustic character to suit it perfectly.
