The Archdiocese of Veszprém has been cultivating vines and producing wine on its estate in Mindszentkálla since 1277. This prestigious wine, named after the founding year, is limited to only 3,000 bottles, showcasing one of the archdiocese's most important grape varieties. Harvested at full phenolic ripeness, with an emphasis on achieving perfect harmony across multiple Riesling clones, the grapes were destemmed, and the free-run juice was fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, followed by extended lees ageing. This meticulous process allowed the region’s richness, complexity, salinity and the varietal expression of – ripe apricot, creaminess and citrus notes – to shine. A precisely crafted wine with a touch of residual sugar to enhance enjoyment, achieving perfect balance that reflects the terroir.
