The red estate wine of the Archdiocese of Veszprém hails from the vineyard in Mindszentkálla, which has been cultivated by the diocese for an unbroken 750 years. It is crafted from three varieties – Kékfrankos, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc – harvested from a single hectare. The carefully hand-selected grapes were partially destemmed, while the rest were fermented as whole bunches in tanks. After pressing, the wine was aged for 11 months in 50% Hungarian and 50% French 225-litre barrels. This wine is elegant and rich, showcasing precision reminiscent of New World wines. Marzipan, cherry, blackberry and tobacco on the nose, while the palate features ripe plum and sour cherry. The labels of the Vesprim Infula wines are inspired by the motifs of the Archbishop's Palace banquet hall.
