One of the greatest classics of our Balaton selection, yet no two vintages have been the same. Lately, there’s a trend that the cellar's ‘yellow cap’ estate wine is less and less about the crisply fresh, and more about the full and ripe flavours of Olaszrizling. Leaving the reductive style, the palate is once again more substantial, and the overall picture is rounder. The picture is further coloured by the fact that no Oroszy was produced in 2022, so the harvest of all the areas, including the oldest vines, ended up in this wine. After manual-harvesting, the organically grown bunches were destemmed, then the fresh must was fermented in temperature-controlled tanks and aged there until bottling in June.
On the 7-hectare Gellavilla estate, the basic variety is Olaszrizling, grown on almost 5 hectares, most of which are old vines planted in 1972, complemented by young vines.
