A deeper, riper Gellavilla Olaszrizling is made every year, selected from the old vines. This wine bears the name of the former owner of the 224-year-old stone cellar, Pál Oroszy, a court judge from Veszprém. The 2021 version departs from the usual style, the skins are given more space, the colour leans towards orange and copper. 100% of the organic fruit picked from the 50-year-old vines was fermented spontaneously, the final blend consisting of components made with skin contact, aged in used barrels and tanks. Those looking for orange wine flavours will find them in this wine: black tea, yellow apple and yeasty notes reminiscent of mature champagne, a layered palate and a subtly tannic finish. This wine was unfiltered and unfined, with minimum sulphur added, before in an unusual way, it was poured into screw-cap bottles. For us, it showed its best form at cellar temperature, carefully removed from the lees and poured from a decanter.
