Following the 2019 vintage, Gellavilla produced another deeper coloured, substantial, round and ripe ‘Major Anna’. Out of the estate’s seven hectares on Öreg-hegy, a total of just over one hectare is devoted to red grapes, half of which are Kékfrankos. Organic cultivation, manual harvest, straightforward winemaking, spontaneous fermentation in open vats, pressing with a traditional basket press. Ageing in used 3-hectolitre Hungarian barrels for one year. Deep, spicy, densely fruity and subtly oaky. Bottling took place in January 2022, without filtering and fining.
