The Superior Selection was first produced at the winery in the 2018 vintage, made from a selection of barrels that promised exceptional quality, from the Kutyahegy vineyard in Ostoros. The hand-harvested grapes come from a vineyard undergoing organic conversion, with controlled fermentation carried out in stainless steel tanks. The blend is primarily from Kékfrankos, with 20% Pinot Noir and 7% each of Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon. It was aged for 24 months in oak barrels, followed by an additional 6 months in bottle. Aromas of spices, tobacco and chocolate, while the palate reveals ripe red and black berry fruit, including sour cherry, with a long, vibrant finish.
