A deep ruby red colour, with tons of black berry fruits on the nose. Ripe plum, blackberry, and black cherry, along with sweet barrel spices such as vanilla, cinnamon and cloves on the palate. It has a lovely structure – the acidity and the 15% alcohol are balanced nicely by the soft tannins. A robust, juicy red wine, with serious substance, with a few years of ageing potential, from the volcanic soil of the Hangács vineyard.
The story of György Lőrincz and his family is a two-decade-long success story, during which they went from being a small winery to becoming an icon of the wine region, with international awards, a restaurant, a wine bar and emblematic wines. The Egerszalók winery focuses on local varieties and the terroir.
