The Hangács vineyard is the winery's most valuable and largest contiguous area, which has been under the winery's full attention since 2006. Over the years, the vineyard has become known for its cool elegance and complexity, which is especially noticeable when tasted blind from the barrel, as it always stands out significantly from the other wines. The 2022 vintage is particularly concentrated, as the dry conditions resulted in small berries, giving the wine extraordinary intensity. As György Lőrincz Jr mentioned: "This might be the best vintage in the history of the Hangács Vineyard."
The wine is primarily made from old Kékfrankos vines, which bring out the elegant, distinctly Eger character, with subtle tannins and rich black fruit flavours. The essence of the Hangács vineyard is now entering a new chapter, with new cultivation methods and stricter blending processes.
The story of György Lőrincz and his family is a two-decade-long success story, during which they went from being a small winery to becoming an icon of the wine region, with international awards, a restaurant, a wine bar and emblematic wines. The Egerszalók winery focuses on local varieties and the terroir.
