The second Bikavér of the Nagy-Eged vineyard, which according to the Lőrincz family was made from one of the greatest vintages of the Eger wine region in the last 20 years. The wine that was introduced last year was selected among the best 50 of the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), after which we have been especially looking forward to the continuation. It was made by blending low-yield, hand-harvested Kékfrankos, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and a minimal amount of Blauburger, with a year and a half of barrel ageing. The marine alluvial, limestone soil of the Nagy-Eged vineyard results in wines of special character. This limited availability wine is full of life, vibrant, long and complex and it is expected to be so for a long time.
The story of György Lőrincz and his family is a two-decade-long success story, during which they went from being a small winery to becoming an icon of the wine region, with international awards, a restaurant, a wine bar and emblematic wines. The Egerszalók winery focuses on local varieties and the terroir.
