Nagy-Eged is an emblematic Eger vineyard site. Its steep slopes, distinctive Triassic limestone bedrock and unique mesoclimate allow the area to consistently demonstrate its exceptional potential through great wines year after year. The lower part of the hill, the Nagy-Eged-dűlő Grand Superior site, features humus-rich topsoil and outstanding potential. A blend of Kékfrankos, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Blauburger, spontaneously fermented in vats and aged for 18 months in 500-litre Kádár barrels.
Its lively, deep nose exudes red and black berries, red plum, sour cherry and black cherry, complemented by freshly-ground black pepper and subtle oak spices. On the palate, it shows remarkable balance, a succession of ripe berries and an almost endless finish. Complex, dense, and silky – another great wine from an outstanding terroir.

The story of György Lőrincz and his family is a two-decade-long success story, during which they went from being a small winery to becoming an icon of the wine region, with international awards, a restaurant, a wine bar and emblematic wines. The Egerszalók winery focuses on local varieties and the terroir.
