Sauvignon Blanc 2019

This wine is almost completely new, made from the crop of vines that was planted in 2015, whereby Sándor Mérész is experimenting with three different clones, among them is the 530, which is one of the most widespread Sauvignon Blanc clones in New Zealand. 2019 was a warm, dry year in Etyek, the daily temperature fluctuation was minimal, thus the aromas became restrained. Still, there is quite a bit to be found in the glass: it starts with chalky, limestone aromas with juicy peach and pineapple in the background. Following a bit of airing, the green notes, nettle and green herbs also appear. The palate boasts a lot of citrus, lime and green apple, owing to the complete tank vinification, lively and vibrant acids. The mouthful is dry and owing to the 3 months of keeping on fine lees, and it finishes with a slightly sweet feel.
