Frigyes Bott’s most important black grape variety is Kékfrankos, so alongside Furmint, this variety was also planted in their best parcel, Faricka. It has small berries and looser bunches compared to most Kékfrankos, making it extremely concentrated and complex. The nose is cool, with blackberry and black cherry notes, while the palate is dense and spicy, with subtle oak barrel spices. One of the most exciting Kékfrankos wines in our selection.

It was love at first sight when I first laid my eyes upon the nine hectares which lie on Öreg-hegy (Old Hill) at the confluence of the Danube and the Garam rivers, the latter which after running down the Slovakian hills quietens down on the plain.
