The processing and the vinification is kept as simple as possible: after the whole-bunch pressing, it ferments spontaneously in barrels without skin contact, then it’s bottled without filtering, yet, purely, without lees notes and flavours. A big wine with fine details, the elegant and easy-to-drink style of Furmint and the lively flavours typical of the wine region.
It was love at first sight when I first laid my eyes upon the nine hectares which lie on Öreg-hegy (Old Hill) at the confluence of the Danube and the Garam rivers, the latter which after running down the Slovakian hills quietens down on the plain.
