A natural Kékfrankos from Muzsla, made with special technology. Trodden whole bunches at the bottom of the vat, untouched whole clusters in the middle, and hand-picked intact grapes on the top, followed by spontaneous fermentation and 10 months of ageing in oak barrels before bottling unfiltered with minimal sulphur. Aromas of sour cherry, pomegranate, slight smokiness, violet petals, and ripe, black olives. Cool character, completely mouth-filling, with subtle bitterness, lively acidity, spicy plum and dark chocolate. Long, dense and round. Every gear is in its place: a natural Kékfrankos for the advanced taster.
It was love at first sight when I first laid my eyes upon the nine hectares which lie on Öreg-hegy (Old Hill) at the confluence of the Danube and the Garam rivers, the latter which after running down the Slovakian hills quietens down on the plain.
