This Muzsla Pinot Noir, which was made from biodynamically-grown grapes, was bottled unfiltered and unfined. It was fermented for about 3.5 weeks in vats, out of which 60-70% was whole bunch, then 20% of it was aged in new barrels. When poured into the glass, medicinal herbs first appear on the nose, then it goes in a spicy-fruity direction. The palate shows precision, elegant oak use, round acidity and cherry fruitiness.
It was love at first sight when I first laid my eyes upon the nine hectares which lie on Öreg-hegy (Old Hill) at the confluence of the Danube and the Garam rivers, the latter which after running down the Slovakian hills quietens down on the plain.
