Pannonhalmi Infusio is one of the winery's most reliable points: with each vintage, it shows the Pannonhalmi interpretation of the classic Bordeaux blend, elegantly, with substance, in balance. The 2023 vintage brought a harmonious, beautiful balance – the grapes were picked at perfect ripeness, and the wine is accordingly full, yet tight. The blend is now 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc – the Merlot brings the velvety fruitiness, the Franc the structure and spice. It spent 18–19 months in small wooden barrels, half new, half second-fill, with a little American oak, which gives the wine an exciting, Mediterranean spiciness. The palate is dense and substantial, yet elegant. Ripe black fruits, delicately layered barrel spices, long, beautiful finish. Great shape, composed with a sure hand – it is still an experience now, but it still has potential for another 8–10 years. A great wine, composed with a sure hand.
