“We started with many varieties, but Riesling clearly turned out to hit the jackpot,” says Zsolt Liptai. “At home, I open Riesling the most often, and as for the Priors aged for three years, I don’t think there’s anything better. A proper variety that knows its job, and in the vineyard its shoots grow straight,” he adds. The new vintage of the Prior once again does not disappoint. Striking aromas of peach blossom, mint and orange peel, followed on the palate by yellow apple and pear, with taut acidity, seriousness and subtle minerality in the background. In the winemaking, they aim for impeccably pure must and precise fermentation in stainless steel tanks, leaving a few grams of residual sugar at the end, which is an essential part of Prior’s unique style.
