2019 was finally good enough for the winery’s top white wine – Prior – to be born again. It has been given a new label – one that we got to know from Infusio, with Saint Stephen’s initials. It’s always made from the crop of the most beautiful vineyard, this time from Packalló, in Zsolt Liptai’s cellar. The harvest happened in several batches, the destemmed berries went through optical selection, then were pressed gently, and fermented in steel tanks, where ageing also happened for a long time on fine lees. Reminiscent of Pfalz, it has Mediterranean fruit, citrus on a broad acid foundation. The Riesling’s body is rounded out by the touch of residual sugar, with a minty, fresh and fruity flavour remaining on the finish. A big wine.
