At the time of the establishment of the Kreinbacher winery, it debuted with three white blends: Taposó-Kút, Kőkönyha and Öreg Tőkék Bora, which means the wine of old vines. During the last 20 years, the structure of the estate has changed, the selection has become more refined, the emphasis has shifted from still wines to traditional method sparkling wines. Yet, one thing has remained unchanged: the old vines, which give the base of this wine. It has been an Olaszrizling, Hárslevelű and Furmint blend since the beginning, for which the grapes come from organically-cultivated plots. Following destemming and brief skin contact, the wine was spontaneously fermented, then aged in Hungarian and French barrels for 8 months. It’s a dense wine with an oily texture, and full, peachy, mineral flavours with subtle oak in the background. If we had to choose one wine from the whites of the estate, this one would be it.
