Made from grapes harvested on south-facing terraces with volcanic soils, this wine brilliantly captures the power of its terroir and the varietal character of the grape variety. A long fermentation in oak vats, followed by 16 months of barrel ageing, has imbued it with considerable depth and complexity. Youthful garnet colour, while the nose is rich, dominated by black berry fruit, dried sour cherry and exotic spices, like black pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it is silky, with smooth tannins and ideal balance between alcohol and acidity. The dynamic structure is accompanied by elegance and a long finish. A characterful yet refined Syrah, which is really enjoyable now, but has the potential to age beautifully.
