Kékfrankos harvested from a particularly warm parcel located next to the Frettner vineyard, overlooking Lake Fertő, from Etyeki Kúria’s Sopron vineyards. Among their red wines, the Kékfrankos is aged for the longest time in the bottle, after spending 12 months mostly in two- to three-year-old, and a smaller part in new, 300-litre Hungarian and Austrian oak barrels. It is characterized by the variety’s typical sour cherry compote, blackberries, prunes and a touch of black pepper. Its elegant, cool, green herby character is complemented by fine, woody aromas, due to long ageing.
