The Weninger name became known in the region as much for Bordeaux varieties as for Kékfrankos. Over time, fewer international varieties remained, and more local varieties have been cultivated at the estate. The grapes for this wine were selected from the last Cabernet Sauvignon parcel, in 2021.

Known for its depth and strong character, the variety was vinified authentically in the ‘old school’ style: biodynamically cultivated, de-stemmed grapes were spontaneously fermented with minimal punching down, long maceration and almost a year of ageing in the winery's large, decades-old barrels. The sequence of interventions ends here: it was bottled without filtering or fining, with minimal sulphur.
Deep aromas, green herbs, black cherry, menthol, poppy seed and notes of maturity. It feels subtly rustic, dry and reminiscent of great classics. Due to direct bottling, the wine contains residual carbon dioxide, which dissipates immediately when decanted into the glass.

Bottled in January 2023, 3,800 bottles were made of it.
