At the Heimann estate, each year they carefully select the three – or in the best years, four – barrels from which the Merlot is made. The vineyards on the Porkoláb-völgy ridge, planted with French clones, reliably produce the quality that forms the foundation of this wine year after year.

The Agnus comes from Ági Heimann. The first Merlot selection of this kind was made in 2009, a perfect year for the variety, and since then it has only been produced in the most exceptional vintages.

“It was an outstanding vintage, so we felt we had to create a beautiful selection. From four barrels, we released 1,500 bottles of Agnus, and the packaging even bore the inscription Agnus Dei – Dona Nobis Pacem,'" says Ági. She has sung at Catholic mass many times, and these Agnus Dei closing pieces always brought her a sense of comfort.

"I practically get goosebumps when I think back to some of them. For me, that’s what Agnus is like. Merlot, in any case, is not a bold variety. At least here on the Szekszárd loess, it is known as a beautiful, round, velvety, gentle wine, while still having multiple layers. At the end of the day, a wine like this is sure to bring positive feelings,” opines Ági.
