The highest point of the Szekszárd wine region is Bati-kereszt, an enclosed vineyard belonging to the Heimann family that’s planted mostly with Kékfrankos. Year after year, it’s the last to be picked – in 2020, the harvest started in mid-October, too. It has an atypical, aromatic, medium-bodied Szekszárd Kékfrankos style. During fermentation, the focus is on undamaged grapes, which is why the wine is intense with aromatic fruitiness. It was aged for 11 months in large barrels.
