It has been made in the best vintages since 2007, honouring the ancestors. The pronounced, spicy character of the rare grape variety (Sagrantino) that grows in the Bati kereszt vineyard is complemented by the deeper flavours of the Cabernet Franc, and the vibrant acidity of the Kékfrankos from the Baranya Valley. The varieties were fermented separately in tanks and vats, then the Sagrantino was aged in large, 1,000-litre barrels, with the Cabernet Franc and the Kékfrankos being aged in five-hectolitre barrels for two years. Pomegranate and marzipan notes on the nose, with dried, sour fruit aromas. The palate is broad with complex notes, and intense, ripe tannins. It was bottled in May 2020.
