This is where Szekszárd wine starts with János Márkvárt Jr: the Vegyes Vörös (i.e. Mixed Red) fermented from organically cultivated grapes has a pure palate. This is how the dialect of the wine region referred to blended reds that were fresher than Bikavér. That's how we started using this name as a working title, and then perhaps it stuck to the wine because of its simplicity. Jani's most important vineyards and varieties come together in it: the Baranya-völgy and Faluhely vineyards, half of it is Syrah, a third is Kékfrankos, and Merlot and Kadarka are there to spice it up. A solid entry-level wine of the selection, a real thirst-quenching wine from Szekszárd. with a Mediterranean feel, pomegranate colour, explosive fruit, aromas of sour cherry juice, a taut structure, layered flavours and a delicately sour palate. Everything is fine if the base wine is this delicious.
