“Viticulturally, it means the greatest challenge for us. Half of our own plots are bush-vine trained, 50-70-year-old plantations, where all the work can only be done by hand. The new plantations are already a mix of P9 and selected clones. The P9 Kadarka is the most sensitive, it requires extremely careful work among the vines, carried out at the right time, in order to protect it from disease. In return, it delivers a pale colour and spiciness. The new (old) Pécs clone brings us the possibility of the colourful world of the old plantations, where they planted the different Kadarka versions mixed together. And they did this because they believed that this way best shows its uniqueness and such a light, spicy character that is non-attainable for other varieties.” – Csaba Sebestyén.
A cherry red coloured, joyful Kadarka with airily light, vibrant acidity, raspberry candy and redcurrant notes on the palate. Cooling it by a couple of degrees more than we usually do with red wines really suits it.
