The easiest way to get to know the vineyards is through single vineyard wines, and the winemaker through the estate wine. Blending, as a genre, brings along one's own taste, the image of the varieties and the wine region most evidently. An excellent example of this is Attila Homonna's sweet estate wine.
The core is Furmint, mostly from the Rány vineyard, located next to Erdőbénye, where palm-sized rhyolite stones cover the rows running between the old vines. The Homonnas brought in the crushed bunches in the last round of the harvest (with minimal botrytis), and then the processing took place classically and with little use of machines. Pressing was followed by spontaneous fermentation and ageing in used barrels.
Apricot, shrivelled grapes and raisins appear on the ripe nose. The uniqueness comes from the angular structure, the sourness and bitterness appearing first on the dense and sweetish palate.
