The 20th vintage of the legendary and pioneering Mandolás Furmint of the Oremus estate, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2023. After the 2020 harvest, András Bacsó Jr. took over the entire professional management of the winery from his father, so the fermentation, ageing and blending of the estate's flagship wine can also be connected to him. András has been making wine since he was in elementary school, first in the family cellar, then in Burgundy and now at Tempos Vega Sicilia's estate in Hungary. In a difficult, cooler vintage that is rich in higher acidity wines, harvesting the grapes at optimal ripeness was even more difficult than usual. The botrytis-free bunches, harvested in the late autumn, were pressed in whole bunches after several selections, then fermented in new Miklóssy Kádár barrels and stainless steel tanks, followed by ageing in barrels for 6 months. It’s a cooling, pure tasting, mineral and fresh wine, with Furmint’s characteristic aromas and long ageing potential.

„2011 was the opportunity to make the ideal dry white wine. The grapes were so healthy that they were smiling at you. This is the 13th vintage of our dry estate wine, yet we learn something new from nature every year. The most important thing we’ve experienced in the past ten years was balance. The precise timing of the harvest, but even more giving full concentration during the time of fermentation. For me fermentation is the most important time, the most significant part of a wine’s life and one that I supervise throughout. That’s the crucial point: when the grape becomes a wine.”
