Famous for its pronouncedly sweet wines, Royal Tokaj's 5-puttony aszú, also known as ‘Blue Label’, is a real bestseller and one of the best-known Tokaj wines in the world. The 2017 vintage is both spicy and sweetly fruity. In addition to the white-fleshed peach, both ripe plum and honey are also in the mix. The aszú berries were macerated in the fermenting must for two days, then after pressing, the must was sent to the traditional ageing cellars of the Mád estate, where fermentation and ageing took place in 300- and 500-litre Zemplén barrels for another two years. The blending in spring 2020 was followed by bottling in July.
