Yielded from ‘Karós’ (staked) vines from the highest planted terrace plot of the Barakonyi vineyard. Compared to the Barakonyi Furmint, the significant difference – beyond the raw material – is the longer bottle ageing, necessitated by the stronger acid structure caused by the staked cultivation, according to Sarolta Bárdos. On the nose, there’s initially quince and orange oil. It’s both vibrant and substantial on the palate, with ripe yellow-fleshed fruits, salt-preserved lemon, then coolness, quince pear and mint on the finish.
