The 2021 vintage began after a cool spring, followed by a relatively dry summer with minimal rainfall, accelerating the grapes’ ripening process. The season began with late bud break and delayed development, but summer’s dryness and minimal rainfall allowed the grapes to ripen swiftly and evenly. Consequently, healthy and aromatic Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were ultimately harvested from the Csillagvölgy vineyard. It was fermented in open vats, then rounded out for 16 months in new 300-litre oak barrels. Deep purple colour, aromas of barrel spices and prominent fruit, with rose hip, juicy sour cherry, dark chocolate and tobacco. Warm character on the palate, with integrated oak notes and subtly drying, ripe tannins. Already approachable now, but with proper cellaring, it will evolve into a stunning experience.
