Gábor Kiss' 100% Merlot from the Bocor vineyard has become iconic by now. He uses a small-berried, thick-skinned French clone. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, ageing takes place in new and second-fill French barrels, without fining. Discreet leatheriness appears on the nose first, followed by exciting, black berry fruits, anise, orange peel, herbs and tobacco notes with time. It’s an intense, dense, complex Merlot with taut acidity and great ageing potential.
