This C7, which was harvested six years ago from Siklós vineyards, is being put back onto the market after several years of ageing. It has a Merlot core (80%), supplemented with a bit of Sauvignon and Franc, with the grapes coming from the Makár, the Zuhánya and the Csukma vineyards. The hand-picked grapes are sorted on three levels, then fermented in tanks after being gently crushed and briefly macerated. Adjusting to the qualities of the vintage, following the 30 days of maceration and complete malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 15 months – 60% in used and 40% in new French barrels. It has a ruby red, purplish colour, and a concentrated, cool nose. Fresh and floral flavours mix with a touch of saltiness and owing to the barrel aging, it gives sweet experiences, with vanilla and clove. The palate is full of life with dynamic tannins and a long aftertaste that is made even more noble by the bottle ageing of the last few years.
