A rollercoaster of a vintage that produced deeply coloured wines with balanced tannins and acidity. The 2019 growing season followed the driest winter of the past decade and began with an unusually early budbreak. The grapes for rosé were picked exceptionally early, while the grapes for red wines were harvested relatively late. After a meticulous three-tiered hand sorting of the hand-harvested clusters, the grapes were destemmed. Following several hours of cold soaking prior to fermentation, the must began fermenting in stainless steel tanks. After 30 days of skin contact, the wine was gently pressed and aged for 15 months in 225-litre French oak barrels, 70% of which were new oak. An intense, concentrated palate of blackberry, black raspberry and all-spice that’s charming and vibrant with remarkable freshness and finesse, yet bold in terms of flavours and fullness. Don't be deceived: the wine's floral freshness and feminine character aren't weaknesses, but rather magical beauty. Rightfully the best known variety of the Villány region.
