The 2021 vintage was all about discipline – a challenging year that ultimately delivered excellent results. The wine comes from two vineyards, Csukma-dűlő and Makár-dűlő, which are both located in the cooler sites of Siklós. Grapes from the Csukma vineyard are used exclusively for premium wines by Sauska Pincészet (Winery), while Makár forms the heart and soul of blends in the Siklós style.

After careful selection of the hand-harvested bunches, the grapes were destemmed, then – following a few hours of cold pre-fermentation maceration – fermentation began in stainless steel tanks. After 28 days of full maceration, the wine was gently pressed, then aged for 17 months in 225-litre French oak barrels – mostly used barrels with a small proportion of new oak.

An ethereal wine with floral aromas, violet and lily, alongside blueberry and eucalyptus. The palate is round and rich, yet lively and fresh, showing ripe cherry and blueberry, with notes of vanilla and allspice. A long, flavourful finish.
