The variety, which is rare in Hungary, is mainly used in Bordeaux, where it is also typically blended with the usual varieties in a small percentage. It has been produced as a single-varietal wine on this large Villány estate since 2011, and is harvested from the altogether 3-hectare plot of the Hársos vineyard, typically in the final days of the harvest. In the cellar, the wine is processed in the classic way, with fermentation on the skins, followed by the two years of ageing in large Hungarian oak barrels, then at least the same amount of time in the bottle. It’s an everyday red wine with a pure taste and a clear Villány character, into which the excitement is brought by the variety itself. In addition to the lively acidity, the dry and full palate has fine tannins and a round finish.

The winery bears the name of the world-famous Hungarian viticulturalist Zsigmond Teleki. It’s one of the largest and best equipped cellars in Villány, in which they harvest from 370 hectares, producing around 2 million bottles every year.
